Spring is in the Air
Heyyy y’all!
Spring officially arrived on March 20th, so even though I’m a little late, I still want to spread the cheer and excitement of one of my favorite seasons! I hope you’ve taken the time and space for some spring cleaning both physically and spiritually to maintain your spiritual hygiene. Out with the old and in with the new energy, because what we won’t do is hold on to or harbor anything from the winter months!
The new year started off pretty rocky in America, and I just want to send out a gentle reminder that we all need to take care of ourselves just a little more myself included. February was a progressive and busy month, and March didn’t slow down either (after all, it is Women’s Month!). As a collective, we love to win especially in this Nu Era that so many of us are stepping into. It’s been beautiful to watch all the girlies level up, but in the midst of it all, we have to stay grounded guys included.
So, I want to share some tips not only for cleansing and clearing your space but also for staying grounded during these busy seasons. Let’s step into this new season refreshed and aligned! 🌿✨
Physical Cleansing
Declutter First – Get rid of unused, broken, or unnecessary items. Donate or recycle what you can.
Deep Clean Surfaces – Wipe down walls, shelves, and baseboards. Use natural cleaners like vinegar, lemon, or essential oils.
Wash Fabrics – Clean curtains, pillowcases, rugs, and blankets to refresh the air quality.
Reorganize – Shift furniture around for better flow and alignment with how you want to feel in your space.
Bring in Fresh Air – Open windows and doors to allow stagnant air to leave.
Energetic Cleansing
Smudging with Herbs – Burn sage, palo santo, or incense to clear negative energy. Move around your space with intention.
Salt Cleansing – Place bowls of Himalayan salt in corners of rooms to absorb negative energy. Replace every few weeks.
Sound Cleansing – Use bells, singing bowls, or clapping to break up stagnant energy.
Essential Oils & Sprays – Diffuse or spray lavender, eucalyptus, or citrus oils to uplift your space.
Crystals for Cleansing – Place selenite, black tourmaline, or clear quartz around your home to protect and purify.
Set Intentions – Speak affirmations or prayers for renewal and positivity as you clean.
Water Rituals – Mop floors with tea tree oil or herb-infused water to cleanse away old energy.
Mind & Body Practices
Breathwork – Take deep, intentional breaths (e.g., box breathing: inhale 4 sec, hold 4 sec, exhale 4 sec, hold 4 sec).
Meditation & Mindfulness – Spend 5–10 minutes a day in stillness, focusing on your breath, sensations, or surroundings.
Yoga & Stretching – Incorporate grounding poses like Mountain Pose, Child’s Pose, and Tree Pose to stabilize your energy.
Physical Movement – Walk barefoot on grass (earthing), do gentle exercises, or dance to reconnect with your body.
Nutrition & Hydration – Eat grounding foods like root vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes), nuts, and whole grains; drink enough water.
Emotional & Spiritual Grounding
Journaling – Write about your thoughts, feelings, and what you’re grateful for to gain clarity.
Affirmations – Repeat grounding affirmations like “I am rooted, I am present, I am safe.”
Boundaries & Saying No – Protect your time and energy by prioritizing what truly matters.
Daily Check-ins – Ask yourself: How am I feeling? What do I need right now? I use the InsightTimer app
Slow Down & Rest – Give yourself permission to pause, even if it’s just 5 minutes of stillness.
Environmental Grounding
Connect with Nature – Spend time outdoors, touch trees, feel the wind, or sit in the sun.
Use Grounding Scents – Essential oils like sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, and frankincense can help stabilize energy.
Carry Grounding Crystals – Black tourmaline, hematite, or smoky quartz can help absorb excess energy and keep you centered.
Limit Digital Overload – Take breaks from screens and social media to reconnect with yourself.
Be kind to yourself this message applies to me as well because these past few months have been very stressful and draining and I’m having to constantly reground myself to stay the course. It is not easy but when we are intentional about making time for ourselves it’s always worth it. So here is your reminder to love and care for yourself a little more in your busy seasons

Greetings, beautiful souls,
My name is Layia, and I am the owner and founder of Kindred Spirits Health & Wellness Coaching. I am 30 years old, a Louisiana native, and I’ve been living in Clark County since the fall of 2021. Before settling here, I lived in Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Hawaii, and California, but I now proudly call Henderson home.
I am super excited to start blogging because I’ve always been an avid reader and writer. I believe this platform will be a wonderful way to connect with the Kindred Spirits community. My bi-monthly blog will cover topics such as personal growth and motivation, nutritional and meal prep ideas, physical and spiritual wellness, mental health and mindfulness, herbal remedies, and environmental wellbeing.
The fact that I’m here today, sharing my message, is a testament to how far I’ve come on my healing journey—so buckle up and join me for the ride! My life, to say the least, has not been a walk in the park. Just this past summer, 2024, I wasn’t sure if I could keep going in this world as an empathic and sensitive soul. Yet, after breaking down and finally relinquishing the control I thought I had, I was able to truly breathe. I released the weight I had placed on my own shoulders and decided to let God/the Universe lighten the load. Since then, the world has opened up for me in ways I never imagined.
I am extremely blessed and cannot express enough gratitude for everything happening in my life—regardless of the situation or outcome. Reaching this state of consciousness wasn’t easy; it took confronting a lifetime of trauma and accepting how distressed and unhealthy I had become. It wasn’t until I could no longer ignore the pain brewing inside me that I began to heal.
I know I was sent here with the purpose of supporting others on their healing journeys by sharing parts of myself that many people are afraid to reveal. I believe that shared experiences help us feel less alone, allowing us to relate to one another and understand that we are not isolated in our trauma and pain.
As a person, I’ve always been passionate about helping others succeed in their endeavors. That passion is what makes me an exceptional health coach. When others win, I feel like I’m winning too. There’s no greater feeling than seeing the fruits of your labor manifest into real-life success. I believe that with proper support, we can all feel better—mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. That’s why, at Kindred Spirits Health & Wellness Coaching, I am committed to improving your quality of life in every way possible.
But for this transformation to happen, you must be open to growing pains. Change will challenge you and break you down, only to rebuild you into the person you truly desire to be. I ask you to trust me to be part of this journey because I practice what I preach. You can rest assured that I will never ask anything of you that I wouldn’t expect of myself.
With love and gratitude,
Layia
